Nuclear Operations Instructors (Level I or II)

Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) is expanding the Operations Training Department at Cooper Nuclear Station to accommodate a pipeline of nuclear operators and has an immediate opening for a motivated Nuclear Operations Training Instructor, level I or II in the Initial License or Requalification program of the Operations Training Team at Cooper Nuclear Station.

CNS provides top notch, comprehensive training for employees. CNS reactor operators are licensed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and our operators maintain their licenses through continuing training. Our Operations Instructors utilize our site specific simulator of the power plant’s control room and other training tools, such as our Glass Panel Simulators, plant component mockups, flow loop simulator, and cutting edge classroom technology, to provide training for NPPD personnel to operate the plant in both normal and emergency conditions.

Qualifications:

Level I

  • Education and Training: A bachelor's degree and eight (8) years of Nuclear Operations experience (OR) an associate's degree and ten (10) years Nuclear Operations experience (OR) or a high school diploma and 12 years Nuclear Operations experience. An additional 1 year of experience in instructional/training related activities is highly desired.

  • Licenses and/or Certifications Required: Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator License, RO License (at a BWR), OR Senior Reactor Operators Certificate is highly desirable.

Level II

  • A bachelor's degree and four years of Nuclear Operations experience (OR) an associate's degree and six years Nuclear Operations experience (OR) a high school diploma and eight years of Nuclear Operations experience. Relevant experience is defined as working experience in the related technical area with an additional one year of experience in instructional/training related activities being highly desirable.

  • Licenses and/or Certifications Required: Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator License, RO License (at a BWR), OR Senior Reactor Operators Certificate is highly desirable.

 

Salary Information: Level I Pay Grade 15-Exempt $93,000-$135,846 annually (depending on exp. and qualifications) plus SRO Cert Bonus of $1000 per month (Please discuss eligibility requirements with HR Business Partner) Level II Pay Grade 14-Exempt $82, 752-$106,574 annually (depending on exp. and qualifications) plus SRO Cert Bonus of $1000 per month (Please discuss eligibility requirements with HR Business Partner)
